Welcome to the roaming chinc.
Well, roaming no longer. Since the big journey is now over, anyway. It has been an incredible trip, both personally and professionally. Some of the most incredible scenery and ideas going on over in Europe, which are a great inspiration. One real highlight was meeting up with the membership people from the D&AD, a front-running association for designers based in London. It's good to see where a more established design community is currently sitting, as well as where the Australian industry seems to be in relation to it. Very cool. There are no real final thoughts on it all - because there's been so much to do I haven't really had a good chance to consolidate, and also because there is such diversity that it's impossible to make something coherent (and short) out of it.
This is the online journal of the travels of chinc. dzine between June 10 and August 24, 2006. This site will be updated with thoughts, impressions and inspirations, and especially a photo gallery of the countries and places visited.
It's been a huge trip, and is almost over. I've got an average of 70 photos per day, and that's only the ones I kept. Digital photography has let me delete about 20 or so photos per day. Not too bad, since I was expecting to have about 100 photos per day. I've been good.
